Neurology is a science, dealing with the normal functions and morbid disorders of the nervous system. Analysis of results from the complete examination of the neurologically ill patient, which covers anamnesis, somatic, neurological and mental status as well as series of paraclinical and instrumentation examinations, allows to achieve the final aim of neurological examination – placing of diagnosis of the morbid process and specification of the most suitable treatment. The great progress achieved in the recent decades in biochemistry, immunology, genetics and molecular biology exert favourable effect on the development of neurology. New informative and non-invasive diagnostic methods are introduced in the meantime: ultrasonic, computer tomography, nuclear-magnetic resonance, positron emission tomography.
