Ophthalmology is a specialty, dealing with diagnosis and treatment of the lesions of eye and its appendages: eyelids, lashes, lacrimal apparatus, etc. Eye lesions, except the different by type disorders of visual acuity (vision), cover also all other eye lesions: inflammatory (conjunctivitis, iridocyclitis, uveitis), hereditary and congenital, various forms of cross-eyes (strabism), cataract, elevated intraocular pressure, etc.
