Information

Herpes Zoster is frequent lesion, in which except the skin, the virus Varicella Zoster attacks peripheral nerves too.  Usually it affects elderly patients or such with past severe lesions and intoxication.

The lesion starts with lassitude, sickness and neuralgia, sometimes very strong. After several days, in the zone of the relevant nerve appear pink-red fields later covered by many dense located bubbles, which after tearing result in ulcers.
Most often Herpes Zoster is localized along the intervertebral nerves, on the facial, ophthalmic and otic nerve.

Complications result in delayed or incorrect treatment: on behalf of the nervous system – paralysis and paresis, while the ophthalmic and otic may damage vision and hearing.

Treatment of dermatovirosis is general and local. The general one is directed to effect on dermal and neuralgic symptoms and against bacterial infection.

Specific antiviral therapy /Zovirax, Valtrex, Isoprinosin/ is applied in more severe forms, which accelerates healing process, protects from post-zoster neuralgia and limits the number of recurrences and prolongs inter-attack period in genital herpes.
Local treatment changes depending on evolution of skin rashes.
