Information

Lymphadenitis is another big group of lesions. This is inflammation of peripheral lymph nodes.  Complaints are from enlarged lymph nodes, most  often on the neck and axilla, as well as inguinal (in groin) with/without pain and heat. The most frequent reasons for their enlargement are the local or general lesions of organism like inflammation of tonsils, ear, teeth; microtraumas or fungi of legs at enlarged lymph nodes in inguinal region; wounds and burns of extremities. General lesions, which lead to enlarged lymph nodes are tuberculosis, syphilis, AIDS, infectious mononucleosis, toxoplasmosis /lesion of cat’s scratch/. The necessary exams for correct diagnosis and treatment are the exam by hematologist, complete blood count, thin-needle aspiration biopsy. Treatment depends on the reason.
